Coyote Ridge Prison Overview
Coyote Ridge Corrections Center is operated by the Washington State Department of Corrections in Connell. It is the only state prison physically located in Franklin County. The facility is separate from Franklin County Corrections Center in Pasco. A person may be physically incarcerated in Franklin County at Coyote Ridge and still not appear in the Franklin County Inmate Inquiry, because DOC custody is statewide prison custody rather than county jail custody.

Coyote Ridge Visiting Schedule
Visits at Coyote Ridge require DOC visitor approval. That approval applies to prison visits and video visits. DOC tells visitors to check facility alerts, event calendars, the visit schedule calendar, and visitor guidelines before travel. Minimum Security Unit visitors may park at the MSU lot shortly before check-in, while Medium Security Complex visitors use the MSC public-access process. The no-processing windows matter because arriving during those times can prevent entry even on an open visiting day.

Coyote Ridge Video Visits
Coyote Ridge video visits are scheduled through Securus by approved visitors. DOC states that visits are scheduled in 30-minute increments, may not exceed one hour, and must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. These video visits are prison visits. They do not replace Franklin County jail visiting for people who are still held at the Pasco jail.

Coyote Ridge DOC Admission
Coyote Ridge admission is not the same as street-arrest booking. A person arrested in Franklin County may first appear on the Franklin County jail roster while held at the local jail. After conviction and a state prison sentence, DOC handles reception, classification, transport, and assignment. Coyote Ridge may be the final placement, or the person may be assigned elsewhere in the Washington prison system. The DOC locator is the status check after that transfer.

Coyote Ridge Prison Programs
